We are very proud to have sponsored the Young Enterprise Milton Keynes Trade Fair for the second year in a row, which was recently held in Middleton Hall at Centre:MK.
Established by Young Enterprise (the UK’s leading business and enterprise education charity), this event provides an opportunity for students participating in its Company Programme to showcase the products they have created (with everything from devices that monitor air pollution to educational dental kits) and sell directly to the public.
The Company Programme enables participants to experience what it’s like to set up and run a company. Running throughout one academic year, students make all the decisions about their enterprise, from deciding the name and product to creating a business plan, managing company finances and selling to the public at trade fairs like the one held in Milton Keynes.
For the second year, we sponsored the Best Overall Company category and would like to say a huge congratulations to the winning team, Elevate, from Stratton Upper School in Biggleswade. The team produces high-calibre, analogue clocks for children, which simultaneously aim to educate and spread awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation (available for purchase at Elevate’s online shop).
The runners-up in the Best Overall Company category were team Kardaroo from Aylesbury Grammar School. The team makes innovative phone accessories which have a wide variety of uses and come in sleek, fashionable designs (which can be purchased via their online shop). Well done, Kardaroo!
It’s a great pleasure being involved with Young Enterprise and supporting the great work it does in the local community and right across the UK. We were highly impressed with the quality and enthusiasm of the young entrepreneurs at the recent MK trade fair and it bodes very well for the region that we have a crop of such exciting young entrepreneurs coming through.
